Removal of low pressure hose at a/c compressor side?

My low pressure a/c hose has a faulty valve and has completely evacuated the system. I need to purchase a new low pressure hose but before I do I was wondering how it connects to the back of the compressor and how does it disconnect?

Also, is the this part (picture below) the complete hose from compressor to the fitting at the pressure switch on the passenger's side?

it's got a single 10mm bolt that holds a clamp that secures both lines at the back of the compressor.

I believe you need the Ford quick disconnect tool set. They're a set of about four circular tools of various sizes that release the spring that hold the hoses on. Just go to a parts store and ask for Ford quick disconnect tools.

Got those - the fitting that takes those tools is on the passenger side - its the driver's side (back of compressor) I was curious of.

if you're talking about the sevicing vavle, you can get replacemnts at walmart, of all places, cost $9.50, that line you need, from the parts stores was ~150 when i was looking for one. good luck

The valve is different from the R12 valves (tire valves) - The 134a valve looks to be non-servicable?

I'm seeing prices from http://www.advanceautoparts.com at about $50 for the hoses - I need to go in and see what they provide - it's hard to judge from the pictures of the parts they provide.

the wally world kit is a r-13a retro fit, i boought it for the dust caps, mine were long gone. I just checked my old line, not sure if the threads would match up anyway, so sorry bout that, but there is an o-ring under that valve, it just screws off, may be rotted? I checked at advance for that line, 3 wks ago, they said they'd have to special order it, cost 138, that's my local store though, maybe yours is different, good luck

Man it doesn't look like my low pressure side valve screws off at all. My dad is an A/C guy and when he was over he checked it out and said it was made into the liquid line hose.

I'll head over to my Advance Auto store and see what they say. If the line is only $50 like the website says I'll get them to order it and see what the deal is.

that line you linked to up above isn't the line you need.

When you unbolt the block from the back of the compressor there is 2 hoses connected to it....the other runs to the front of the car and across the top of the radiator and plugs in by the upper radiator hose. The hoses are pressed into this block. Not sure exactly how the best was to get it out is.
