Remove Battery for Storage?

I put the stang away at the end of October and after buttoning everything up on her, I pulled the battery. Was this a good idea? After reading tons of storage advice, I decided to put the stang away and not start it at all until spring. I did have my car supercharged back in September, so my computer is chipped. The battery is the original one on the car since I bought it brand new and was starting to show signs of its age. I was planned on replacing it in the spring. I want to make sure that the car is cool without any power to it until march. Its currently garaged and car covered as well. Thanks.

most, if not all people who store their vehicles for extended periods of time (several months or more) remove the battery

i just disconnect the negative terminal.
