Removing Air Silencer in Mach

How good of an idea is it to remove the air silencer in the Mach? Has anyone done a review of this mod? & pls don't post links about how to do it.

From what I've heard, it gives you little to no power but makes the intake sound much louder. A few guys on teh registry have done it.

I wouldn't mind getting more sound out of my intake w/out the expense of HP.

I don't think it hurts at all... just sound mod i guess...

I dont even understand why they even have that.. doesnt it mess with the ram air..

Guess I know what I'll spend a tad of my time tomorrow doing. It only took me 5 minutes earlier today to install the K&N that I bought 2 years ago for my GT & drove no more than 500 miles on it before I installed the CAI w/ new filter. Then I put the K&N back in its box & left it in my parents' attic for a long while. I took it out of the box today & it still looks brand new & is now in the Mach.

better off cutting it at fender..so no heat gets in there
