Removing brake booster

Anyone have any ideas or experience on removing one of these from a '94GT?The shock tower seems to be gettin in the way

Yeah, it's a serious PITA but it can be done. What I had to do was bend the studs going through the firewall so the booster can be turned to one side. I don't remember which way I bent them but it should be easy to figure out. You'll need to bend them in the same direction to reinstall the booster.

I don't think you're not actually bending the studs, it bends where the studs are attached to the booster IIRC.

how did you bend them?.....theres not alot of room under the dash......wouldnt bending where the studs are weaken the booster?

It's been 2 years since I did mine, I don't remember exactly what I did. I just remember the only way that thing was coming out or going in without breaking anything was to bend those studs. It didn't seem to hurt anything...

No, not much. Just enough for the brake booster to clear the shock tower. It looked kinda like this - \ - maybe even not that much of a bend.
