I found a dental tool with the hook on the end did it for me. It is a little tension spring that fits real tight on the shaft. And when you get the spring part were you want it, PULL.
Find that little clip, pull it up but dont go to far or else you'll bend it, and pull out on that knob. You might need to push the pressure clip back down to get it to hold the knob on when you go to put it back on
