Does anyone know a trick to removing the door lock cylinder linkage?
There seems to be a snap-ring for the wire that is attached to the cylinder lever.
I'm trying to install a new cylinder and having a tough time trying to remove the linkage from the door trim opening.

Thanks for all your feedback.

I don't know if it's the same for all years and you didn't mention what year you're working on.

On 71-73 there is a spring steel clip that holds the rod in place. (a picture would really help here, but I don't have one). The rod is bent 90º at the end which goes through this oddly shaped spring steel clip. The clip must be rotated off the rod first, then the rod can be pulled out of the lock. This can be a tad tricky since it is spring steel and snaps onto the rod. I believe there is a small tab that you can get a screwdriver under to help rotate it off.

Works the same on 65'-66's.

Sorry I didn't mention the vehicle year. It is a 65 and it sounds just as you have described. I tried rotating the clip with a screw driver but had trouble doing it. Thanks for the tip. I'll put some lubrication and try it again!
