Painted the stang last week. On the 2nd or 3rd coat of clear I have a distinct dry area on a portion of the roof and the rear bumper. Unfortunately I had so much stuff in the booth I didnt see this untill I baked the car. Can I just wet sand this area out using 1000/1500/2000 or am I going to be re-clearing the whole car? I have to do the bumper and wing again so the only hassle is dissasembly and masking. Might be a good time to add some stripes or something.

I would try wet sanding it out........if not looks like you might be re-shooting that panel!

if you break through the clear on the roof, your going to have to only scuff the roof, and quaters, tape them off by back masking along the quarter to door, hatch to quater jambs. an so on. Don't forget, you can pile the hell out of the clear on the roof since its going to lay flat. I like to slow down my gun movement on roofs, trunk lids, and hoods to get a nice flat finish.

I appreciate it. Looks like I got rammy towards the end. Unfortunately there are two areas that will need to be re-cleared, but both are on removable sections. I'm hoping that the clear under the roof area was thick enough to allow me to sand it out. Lord knows it was the 3rd or 4th coat that went dry.
