removing fan

hi
i have a quetion
how would i remove a fan from a 1990 5.0
i need to replace the fan clutch but i bought a new fan thats why i want to remove the whole fan

loosen the fan shroud. 7/16 wrench to the 4 bolts on the water pump pulley. The fan will come out with the fan shroud

Remember to loosen the water pump bolts before you remove the serpentine belt.

you dont have to remove fan shroud to get the fan out. i have done it several times

yeah you don't have to remove the shroud but it is easier if you do. Gives you more room to play with.

also the shroud is the easiest thing to take out of the engine bay next to the battery. why even recommend avoiding it?

Just go electric and give your self extra power and room to change the drive belt, not to mention if the plastic factory fan grenades it will screw some sh stuff up.
I saw on put a whole through a hood kill hoses and the radi.

If you're still running the stock fan make sure you inspect it for cracking especially around the hub area.

Why take off more things than you have too....especially since the shroud isn't in the way.
