I know that you have two disconnect the two electrical harnesses, but I was wondering about the rubber hose going to the boost gauge. Can I just pull the hose out from the back of the instrument panel?

I really don't know...I've never had mine out! I did some research on it though because I was going to install one of Ray Hilton's Boost Gauge Overlays at some point in time... I stumbled across this tidbit of info...don't know if it helps or not.

U.M.

If you take the time and look where the boost line goes, then you can see there are two clips connected to it. One on the drivers side under the dash, and one on the passernger side under the glovebox, both are easy to reach and see. Unclip the clips and easily feed the line on the passenger side under the glovebox behind the console , then easily pull the line from the drivers side. I almost got 3 inches of extra line, so you can move the instrument panel easily to disconnect the line from the instrument panel. Make sure you pull the rubber connector staight back and not when on an angle because the rubber boot seems to grip tighter when you do that.

There is a fairly detailed photo article in this month's MMFF that walks you through the installation of a 16lb overlay for the current gauge. (Includes cutting off the needle stop). They say the hose is short and limits the amount the cluster can be moved. They cut the line and then added an extension. It's a good detailed article. You should check it out.

Thanks for the input guys... I'll have to pick up the MMFF then. The reason I want to remove the panel, is so that I can remove the pesky shift light bulb. I'm not adding an overlay or anything, or messing with the boost gauge. I just want to dissconnect it... and plug it back in. Guess I'll have to read the article to see it's that simple.

The problem is that the boost hose is so short that you can't move the cluster very much.
