How hard are they to remove? I was thinking of boxing them since i have the car sitting. Can you remove them both at the same time? Can you re-use the stock bolts? Anyone else do this? Heard it helps a bit..88 LX
Yes you can reuse the stock bolts. It's easier to do one at a time. Just unbolt shocks and quads with the car lifted and the axel should drop enough to pull the springs, then just unbolt, I think 5/8ths bolts 16mm. You'll need a wrench, socket and extension and ratchet.
They shouldn't be too bad unless the car is a rust bucket. You will need some big tools and some good leverage -- and I like to use a small propane torch to heat the bolts up and loosen any rust up -- you can use penetrating oil as well.
Thei dea is pretty basic, you take off the sway bar and it's four bolts. Be sure you have a couple jackstands to put the car on (supported by subframe) and a jack to support the axle so you can raise or lower it to help with lining up the bolts and taking tension off of everything.

If you can weld, it definitely is. If not, probably more cost effective to buy aftermarket pieces. I still don't know how effective boxing the arms is -- especially keeping the same stock bushings, but I don't see it hurting.
