Removing side vents from 67 coupe

Hey guys and gals. I was wondering whats the best method to remove the side vents of a 67 coupe. How are they connected? Is it an adhesive holding them on or do they snap on? Thanks!

Nuts on the back side and no they are not fun to get to if your hand is bigger than a 10 year olds!!!

Doesn't sound fun at all....What do I have to remove to access these bolts? I tried to feel up in there but it didn't appear that I could get in there at all without removing something.

Well if you really want to do it you can remove the quarter window but I did mine with some time and a ratchet wrench. If you are lucky after you get them broke loose they will spin off by finger.

Also, the nut is just a sheet metal stamping, not a real nut so dont over do it. Make sure you have the socket on good and square and when you go to tighten down the "nut" don't over tighten it.

I don't see why you'd want to get rid of them, they gave the car more character than the 68's with their chrome trim in that spot.

I don't want to get rid of them, I'm sanding all the existant POS paint on my car off and I want to get to the area behind the vents, I also want to strip the paint off the vents themselves.

I see, easiest way I recall to take em off was with the rear windows raised. If that doesn't work then remove the window assembly.

Man, I have big 'ol meaty hands and I don't recall having any problem when I had my '67 'vert.
