I have been considering this since seeing a car with this done. I asked the owner if it made any noise and he says it doesn't. I think it's a roll of the dice wheter it's going to be noisey. Is that true? Are there any other issues other than noise?
I'd like to know this too. I want a lowering kit that includes the H&R race springs but they don't lower the car enough. I saw a cobra with the race springs and no isolators and the height looked perfect. With the isolators, it is too high. Wondering if it really matters? Is it just for noise or will the ride be better with isolators as well?
Noise is a relative thing. Some people notice the smallest squeak, while others are immune to them and seem to tune them out wihtout a second thought. I would guess Ford put them there for a reason, and when I asked around about replacing them or going without because mine were toast, most said to replace them to avoid noise. My $.02, take it or leave it.
i wouldn't thin kthe metal to metal contact woudl be good either not just cause of noise but rubbing would make i weak i would think. I got new energy ones and their huge maybe if you go to a stock one it would be lower but i'm not sure
I have H&R's on mine, first I installed all new poly isolators and thought it was still to high, so I removed the top isolators front and back. I didn't notice any difference.
