Is it possible to remove the trans with the car on jack stands or do you need a hoist. I am just wondering what kind of clearance you need to pull the tranny.

jacks will do just fine. Jack the corvers on stands and then lower the trans with the jak. A+

I just pulled mine yesterday with jack stands. Its doable. Much easier with a hoist though. Tip: don't support the rearend let it hang and put the jackstands where the lower control arms connect to the body. this will allow you to take out the DS bolts much easier because of the angle. good luck

I put jack stands under all four corners and that works really good. I have a good pair that lift about 2 feet and a cheap 15 dollar pair that lift about 18 inches. put the cheapies under the front and the other pair in the back. I used to put ramps under the front tires and the cheap stands under the axle and that worked also.

i just put ramps under the front and took the trans out with my arms lol it only weighs like 50 pounds
