I know that red and orange are pretty expensive, any candy color is expensive, pearls are expensive, I'm lucky my car is white.

Are you going to be doing the painting or is a shop? I tried to have my car repainted black. For a shop to do it it was any where from $4,000 to $6,000. That was for the best paint and repaint any where it was green (inside the engine bay and door panel, etc.) That was more than I was looking to spend. Anyways I love my green. I am just going to have it buffed out next.

Well any color will have a base and clearcoat. If it's metallic (like laser red) it will have a 3rd coat. So the cost is not so much the color itself, but more of what's involved with applying the given color.

If you want cheap, take it to Maaco. A quality paint job that involves changing colors, going from one extreme to the next, takes 10's of hours of work, and the prices can climb quickly. If they do a quality job, i.e. nice paint, paint the door jambs, inner fenders, and all the places where it is painted from the factory, it could cost somewhere around 6-7 grand and it's going to go up from there depending on how extreme you go. The bad part is that they only have about 500 bucks in parts/material.

well, the darker the color (meaning "color") the more expensive it is, basically because more pigmint is used... Vibrant Red I believe, is the most expensive color to own... whereas white is really the cheapest... your green would probably be about $50 for a pint or two, depending on the mood of the guy, and if he was doing the painting too... my uncle sold me 1 pint of vibrant red for $60 w/ primer and all the stuff to paint my side mirrors... cheap price really... he coulda charged 4 times as much for the stuff!

soooo, would it be more money to paint my car black, or yellow?, or should i just get all my body parts green again for the price, although i figured it would cost almost as much for them to go green cause they have to fade it in, see im getting a full body kit, hood, and fender that needs to be painted, lol almost the whole car

Some people are VERY happy with the results considering how cheap it is, but I have also heard some people say they got what they paid for. So I guess it is a hit and miss situation.

well what do you want. theres single stage and 2 stage. single stage has the paint and clear all in one. 2 stage is seperate. 2 stage cost more. it also depends on the color you want and how far you want to go. i think the most expensive color for the mustangs besides mystic has to be lazer red because its a tri-coat. why? because you have to apply the metallics first then apply a transparent red over the metallics. then the clear over top. took about 3 coats of the transparent red. ask how i konw my brother is a professional painter and he did my whole car. i wanted to go with candy apple red but after finding out that my cars paint was so faded, and the lazer red is really close to candy apple, why bother.

$6000-$7000? wow. that's alot. especially considering thats in US dollars. its normally half that in canadian where i live. shop around. thats the best thing to do.

i personally like the forest green color.

yeah, i sorta like black more, see i would LOVE yellow, but that wont be cheap i bet. After im done ill need so much painted on my car, it might not be a whole lot more to just have it painted black, see the green has mettalic junk in it so it sorta looks blue at angles, and i bet that paint is more money than black, which i like anyways...sooo thats where i am!
