Ok, I need help....my interior is completely stripped out currently...after i finish messing with my engine and tranny I will be moving on to the interior next....I pretty much need a whole new interior(I'll probably just pick up a kit from laurel mountain mustang) but my question is about repainting the visible metal parts...I want to paint it all black...just trying to make a mental list of all the things that need paint....

1. The dash of course, I think I may try paint stripper and see how well that works to get the old paint off
2. The doors....one door had a slight dent I had to fix with body filler since it wouldnt pull out....and I believe the metal is actually textured....which presents the issue of how to paint this...am I able to use some type of wrinkle finish paint? or am I going to have to sand all the texture off?(I dont care about originality, just final results)
3. The back interior panels....again, textured...scratches, but I dont think the actual metal is damaged

is that all the visible metal?am I missing anything? the rest of the metal is of course going to be painted too....its just going to be hidden by carpet, padding, the dash, seats, etc

The front windscreen side pillars are visible also on my 65 Coupe. Other than what you've mentioned I think you've got it covered. If possible I would try to preserve the textured door and rear panel metal finish. This is period correct but is frequently sanded 'smooth', like mine.
I hand sanded my dash, took about a day. Will post some pics.
