The passenger side box on my 87 GT looks like it was drug over a stump or something...
It is crushed back towards the rear.

If I was to put the car on jack stands and cut the box out to replace it, where should I put the jack stands so as not to bend the car while the box is taken apart? I don't want the chassis to sag. I had this happen on another vehicle, and the doors never closed right again.

Mine is only two inches though.

as long as your not cutting out the frame rail your fine, the lower torque box can be removed no problem without worrying about the car "sagging"

jack stands can be located on the rear portion of the frame behind the wheels
