I've just gone through 2 belts in the past month on my mustang. I've got a Vortech superchager installed and really have had now problems up until now. My belts seem to be shredding starting on the side closest to the engine. I've also heard some strange scraping sounds happening periodically. It looks to be related to the tensioner. I can see where the belt is actually rubbing against the timing cover as well as the pully on the tensioner. how do I go about tackling this problem? Is the tensioner bent or just gone bad? How hard and expensive is this to replace. I"ve get everthing off, supercharger, belt, etc so its easy to get to. I've just never replaced one before and I know there is a spring in there so not sure really what to do. Is there also a better tensioner to get to replace the stock one?
