Replaced top on '96 Cobra

Recently replaced the top on our '96 Cobra, had a shop do it. I didn't notice it before but now there's an OPEN gap between the top and the rear quarter window. Not sure if it's actually supposed to be there or if the guy just screwed it up. He said there were some springs that were rusted and couldn't be replaced that would hold it more snug to the frame but I think he's bs-ing me. Anyone have any ideas or had the same problem? Also switched from vinyl to cloth - not sure if that could be a contributing factor.

Thanks in advance!

I've never had a convertible Mustang but I'd be willing to bet there's not supposed to be a gap around the window.
Is it a top quality top or a cheapo aftermarket?
I had a "chop shop" put leather interior in my wife's car and it wasn't near the quality of factory but it also wasn't near the price.
