Does anyone have any experience with replacement taillights from a company such as 50resto? I need to purchase a pair of oem taillights and I was wondering what the quality and fitment difference is between aftermarket and ford replacements.

Thanks,

Aaron

Can you get these from Ford?

Yeah. They're something like $500 from Ford.

For me its not so much just wanting new ones as much as it is screwing up big time trying to strip paint off of one.

This is why I am still waiting around and trying to find a set of used Export tails. I think they are sweet. Just hard to find.

Yep. Amber strip and clear box (reverse) on bottom strip.

wow, just when I thought I knew everything there was to know about 94-95's, I've never seen those tails before.
How about driving around till you see a V6 'stang with Altezza's parked in a driveway and go ask if you can buy his stock tl's

I just bought a pair of 94/95 tails as a spare. You can find them pretty cheap, I paid $50 shipped for a black pair. Check corral.

Yep Stephane ... there are even '96-'98 Export Tails. Rare also. Seen these go for $600 for a used set. Rediculous.

hmmm given the choice I'd preffer the '96-'98 export tails. They look sweet. Did they come from the factory on some cars? If so, which models? Or were they just a short-lived aftermarket thing?

The irony is that probably 1% of stangers would notice the Export lights.

I've watched some sets for sale and it was stupid how much they went for (speaking of the horizontals).

I may be wrong ... but from what I have read ...

They were never "installed" in the States. Just sold here. Alot were exported from here to places like Japan, Netherlands, Australia, and the UK, etc. Ford discontinued their low production rate of these in October of 2004.

KarKraft.com and PerformancePartsInc.com used to sell them. Not sure if they still have any ... but they will be EXPENSIVE if they do have them.

I think in Europe it's mandatory to have amber blinkers.

IIRC the amber parts of the import lights don't even iluminate, so what's the point other than the look. Tail-lights don't make your car faster...just my thoughts.

http://www.calmuscleparts.com/

That appears to be their new website. I can't seem to order anything from the first website. However, the new website doesn't have the covers in their catalog =\
