Hello everyone,
I just got a 1996 Mustang GT that won't shift into second gear and I'm looking into my options for fixing this. The T56 seems like a popular upgrade but is way more than I'm willing to spend for a new one. I know the T56 had lots of different applications though, are there any non-Mustang applications that I'm likely to find in a junkyard that would work in my car?

Or, if I find a TR3650, would that work?

Basically I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to be able to get a replacement transmission from a Pick N Pull junkyard, and what cars to look for. Any advice is appreciated.

Be aware of the different transmission speed sensors used VSS (1996-1998) and OSS (1999-2004).

Recent thread about someone else that ran into the wrong side of the speed sensor interchange.
