replacing bad cats on bassani x pipe

my catalytic converters are rattleing inside and chucks came out when i removed my bassani x-pipe.

can i just replace my cats with universal catco cats? also, what about the air tubes ? there is a Y air tutbe that connects the original cats but the universal ones have air tubes individually. what should i do?

How old is the pipe??? I don't even think the catted Bassani X-pipe has even been around long enough for the catalysts to go bad.

I bought mine in early 1999 and I do not think they were out too long before that!! My Cattco's are still doing good by me!

do you think a muffler shop could replace the cats and re-install the air tube in between them?

I'm sure they could if you gave them the parts. They might be able to even toos in some cats they've got lying around. I'd check with Bassani first though. Describe your problem and see if they'll offer to replace the catalysts in your pipe. Certainly sounds like a manufacturer's defect to me.

When I bought my bassani pipes they offered a 5-year warranty on the cats. In fact, I think it is federal law that cats have a five year warranty minimum with a certain mileage warranty as well.
