Replacing negative battery cable... is it this damn hard?

I bought a new battery cable today because mine was pretty corroted (sp?) and nasty. I went to see where it connects to under the motor and it's like tucked up under where the oil filter is... is there some trick way to get that bolt loose?? It looks pretty tough

No trick - just wiggle up under there with the right wrench/socket. Be sure to clean things up as much as possible - bolt threads and the underside of the bolt head - so you get good metal to metal contact between the cable and the block.

Should be able to get it with a 1/2" socket and small extension. Not too hard.

Thanks for the help... just finished putting in that new negative cable! no more corrosion!
