So..

My car's throwing a code for the passenger side O2 sensor so I went out and got some replacement sensors and built myself some ramps, I crawl under the car today and I find the sensors. Only I can't reach the sensors with a wrench to undo them :bang:. The one on my left (driver side) seems pretty easy to get to but I can't get the bastard loose. I have no idea how I'm going to get the passenger side off. Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, what size wrench do you use for the O2 sensor bolts?

It's going to be hard to get them off but they will budge. Try taking a closed end wrench and pull the sensor threw the wrench so the closed end is on the bolt part, where the O2 screws into the pipe. When you get them off put some anti-sieze on them so you don't have this problem again!!!

WILL there be enough room to lift the O2 sensORS out of the pipe??

They sell a special tool to remove the sensors. Check Autozone or Napa
You can buy the socket to remove them but a regular box wrench works too. It is a wierd size though...Like a 11/17ths or something. Close to a 3/4. If I am remebering correctly

I just can't seem to get a wrench in there... I'm talking about the sensors that are upstream of the cats, basically right under the engine. It's so crowded in there it's near impossible to get a wrench on them.

i know what ur talking about i had a hard time getting to mine too...im sure it can be done with some determination. But i dont have the patience for that s**t so i just ripped to whole damn pipe off.lol

Stock pipe.... Rusty bolts... I wouldnt bother with that... the size is 7/9... I now need a half inch ratchet now... I was tugging with one of those queer sensor sockets... IT SLIPPED!!!! I smashed my hand and it broke off the o2 sensor... Well since i had a code on both sides... The other one got my fury!!! I have mils... I bought new ones and o2 sensors... Now I gotta get back under there and try again.... I am soaking em with WD-40 and reving the crap out of my car! Hotter it is should make it easier to get out!
