Hey everyone....not to sound stupid, but how do you replace the header studs after you remove the stock h-pipe? I was told to replace the passenger side studs when installing my Magnaflow x-pipe so it would seal completely. After taking off the 15mm bolt, how do you get the stud out of the header to replace it with the new ones? Also, is there a bolt on the back side of the studs I need as well? The studs I bought only have one replacement nut that comes with them. Pictures or any help would be great before I start this project! I also bought a new gasket for the passenger side, but do I need one for the drivers side? Just to check, the x-pipe to header connection on the passenger side is oval and the connection on the drivers side is round right? Thanks!

Ok first:
1) The replacement stud kit goes on the drivers side not the passenger side. The passenger side manifold has a flange with a flexitalic gasket on it. The drivers side uses a ball and socket design.

2) The only replacement gasket you need is for the passenger side. It is around 5 dollars from ford or Napa.

3) The reason you may need the replacement kit is due to the shouldered design of the manifold studs. Sometimes the mid pipe bottoms out on the studs before the ball and socket get a proper seal.

4) To remove the studs, use a lot of PB Blaster first, wait 1/2 hour then hit them again. Then use the double nut technique: thread one nut on the stud 1/2 to 3/4 up then thread another nut (keep the flat sides together and there are 2 nuts per manifold) on and jam them together. then put your wrench on the topmost nut (closest to manifold) and remove the stud like you were trying to get the nut off.

5) Here is a link to help you showing the replacement kit and how to double nut the stud off.
