Rerouted some wires

So I finally grew a set yesterday and finished hiding my engine bay wiring. After searching and reading the wealth of info available on here I finally decided I was ready. lol Don't ask why, I had hid most of the wires not long after I got this car but that LH harness had initimidated me for too long! I cut an 1"3/8 hole behind the strut tower fed them through and then i cut a 1" hole near the washer res. to access the solenoid. I decided the coil and solenoid will remain there until an extensive engine bay overall is undertaken. I also rerouted my hood latch cable while i was in there.

My car has quite a few wiring issues, previous owner swapped harness lamely and maybe after a fire? Was curious about all the aftermarket harnesses available, as to the quality and fit. I know I can locate a used factory one, but at best it's still going to be lousy in the headlight and charging areas. I started uncovering all my wiring from front to back trying to isolate a fuel pump issue with no avail, and now kinda stuck on what I'm going to do. Presently running a 190 lph in tank pump along with a 250 lph in-line pump that isn't ran off the computer, as it sits if I don't jumper the fuel pump through the test connector my car will stall after a few seconds at idle. And yes I have tried testing the relay, inertia switch, and so on. Some of the previous wire splicing was so bad that just hitting a bump in the road would cause spme kinda issue if not a stall/no run condition. Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, I just thought maybe someone with decent 5.0 wiring skills might be able to offer some input?

you know, just an idea to check, but i was having a similar issue with my fuel system a couple years ago...checked the pump, tested the relay, tested the inertia switch, everything you did, and couldn't come up with anything. and then i noticed that the connector for the relay was broke on the inside, so when i pushed the relay back in, the prongs on the relay shoved the wires out of the connector far enough where they weren't connecting but i couldn't really tell until i got down there and looked. you might have something similar going on, i dunno.

Think I traced it too intertia switch....still need to pull the tank as not getting fuel to rails with just the in-tank unit...both (in & ext. pumps )units running car works.

Props to you for doing this. A clean engine bay is something I want to have someday. It's funny though because I just hid some wiring that the previous owner had run over the drivers side strut tower. It was an ugly mess. I hate wiring so much. I put of doing it for a while. I'd just go out to the garage and stare at it. Finally I started picking it apart one by one and after an hour or two here and there it was all done. Now I can actually put the factory coil cover back on.

Well after pulling tank I gotta say it's kinda embarassing, When my pump went out years ago I pretty much let my old roomate(passed away last yr) do most of the pump replacement because I was wiped from long day of work and pushing car for miles....anyhow, he forgot to tighten the hose on tube that goes to the pump....lmao all these years and never suspecting the pump or anything like that...goes to show what happens when you don't do the repairs yourself....there's always the unknown factor in it all.
