My service engine light came on with misfire at #7 and the car was running very rough. I replaced plug and coil and everything seems to be running fine now.

01' GT, I pulled the battery cable last night, to reset the computer, and let it sit over night. I hook it up this morning and the time on my stereo is still correct and the service engine light is still on.... nothing has been reset.

How do I do this? Is there a fuse or something to reset the computer?

Thanks!

Did you pull the positive or negative cable? You don't have to wait overnight, you don't even have to wait 30 minutes. With the negative battery cable disconnected then a few pumps of the brake pedal (which I was recently educated on), the EEC/PCM will "reset" within about 30-40 seconds.

No sweat, it's a common mistake. Look at the bright side - now you know. Sorry, I just can't resist posting that damn banana! LOL

Help me out here please, what difference does it make which cable you disconnect since it isolates the battery either way?
