This might be a silly question, but what exactly does the resonator on the intake tube do? Is it worth removing? Advantages and disadvantages? I have my loaded gt premium on order and already am ordering everything I want. But this is something new to me! Please help! And thank you!!

You won't miss it... They have a tube that actually runs into the interior to provide more engine noise in the cockpit (yes it's that quite from the factory)
The resonator on the intake has more to do with sound requirements than anything else and has no performance advantage/disadvantage.

What upgrades do you have planned for the car?

Thank you, I might just go ahead and remove it for a cleaner look. I was able to get the dealer to order and install the Borla 2.5" S-type on delivery, so I won't even hear my stock exhaust. haha And debating on the Airaid intake, and that might be it for starters.
