I bought a 78 CobraII a few years back along with a bunch of odds and ends for it. I have slowly been piecing it back together as funds permit. My problem is it was rotted out in what seems to me , some weird places. The area for the spare tire is pretty much non existant and theres some strange work in the shock towers (strange becase I dont see any good reason for it).
It has a fresh 302, a great interior and no rust anywhere but as described above. I striped the RR wheel well because I found it had poorly repaired damage( the shape didnt match the other side). I've only got a few hours of bodywork left to have it ready for paint. I've been shooting for getting it straight enough for black paint, which is what it was/is now. Thats why its not yet finished, black demands perfectly straight.
So anyway, I planned on selling the car when its done, but due to a lack of time and funds, I've been considering just parting it out or trying to sell it before its finished just to get it out of my garage. I've got a couple of Fox bodies I'd rather work on, A '79 cobra 2.3 turbo and a 82 GT.
I'm new to the forum, but from what I can see, there doesnt seem to be a whole lot of available MII parts kicking around, yet im still concerned that if I part it out, I sell one or two critical parts and get stuck with an incomplete car. What do you folks think? Part it out or fix and sell it complete?
