has anyone done this on their dash pieces using chrome paint? 71-73's have no repro and I wondered if anyone has done this, what paints they used and how it turned out? Thanks!

It doesn't look anything like chrome. Just like regular silver spray paint (basically kind of a metalic grey look).

I seriously doubt you'd be able to get a real chrome look from spray paint.

Thanks Chelle- the 71-73 stuff is chromed. There is a company that restores (Mr G), but it costs bigtime (maybe $800 for all pieces). I'm gonna mask and try... We'll see....

****EDIT: It appears that some of the areas on the 71-73 are silver and some are chrome****

Or you could re-chrome it youself with a Caswell plastic chrome kit

or i bet you could just buy new pieces from one of many mustang supply online stores...bet its less than $800 bucks.

Mr G is probably less than $500 which is just too much for me. I can't find these pieces for 71-73 in repro. Anyone know of any?
