Should you retorque your lower intake after initial install when the engine is warm or cold? Does it matter? I always did it when cold, but I stumbled across this website that says warm. - http://www.theclassiccougarnetwork.com/tccn/encata/tech/v728/efi3.html

(It says this in the text next to the intake torque pattern pic)

How does this differ for alum (like my performer) vs iron intakes? (are stock intakes alum?)

Thanks,
Rick

I usually do it when I have time..most often cold, but I don't see it would matter either way.

I don't really see how it would matter much either, but perhaps since the alum intake expands (albeit slightly) when warm, the effectively increases the torque reading.

IOW- when warm, the bolts are 'tighter' (read: more clamping force) than when cold. This would lead to overtightening when retorqueing cold. Maybe the difference is so slight though, it doesn't matter.
