I'm fitting a P.I. intake onto a Cougar with a 4.6, and the fuel system is a return style. The rail from the old intake won't fit on the new P.I. intake, and the old rail from my car is returnless. What years did the 'Stang come with a return style rail, and would that work just the same on this engine? If I can't find a rail that would work, would just blocking off the return line work, or using a T-fitting to make them one line? I doubt that would work, but I figured I'd ask. Thanks.

The old rail from my 2001 GT is return-less, and the Cougar has return style lines. The old rail from the Cougar won't bolt up to the P.I. intake at all. Do the 96-98 return style rails have the pressure regulator right on the rail?

96 and 97 have a (removable) FPR on the rail, 1998 does too but its a fixxed regulator.

Excellent. Now another question. Do you think this will work? I'm not sure if the SOHC and DOHC engines had the same fuel rail. It looks about the same, although I know the intakes are completely different.

Nuts! Ah well. Man, you have lightning fast response time!

Any chance you could get me a quote for the rail I'm looking for?
