I put some Cast WW heads on a fresh 306 and bought the Fel Pro 1011-1 head gaskets. I installed the heads and they have been on the motor for a few months maybe, but the motor was never fired. I want to pull the heads and use them on a different motor, and I don't really want to spend another $75 on two head gaskets.

have the heads been torqued down?

If so, sorry, you HAVE to replace them, the gaskets have been compressed and won't work right again.

Worth a call to felpro tech line to be sure.

I wouldn't reuse those headgaskets....even if they weren't torqued down, headgaskets are cheap enough that I'd buy a new set anyway.

Edit: Just saw that you paid $75 for that set...ouch

I wouldn't, the steel rings that go around the cylinders have been compressed as well and likely won't seal as good. Maybe if it were the same block and you were trying to get buy, but just get another set.

Not possible to re-use them. When you go to remove them, the pemra-torq never stay on the HG. It would be a different story if you have coppers and hylomar. Gaskets are only 17 a piece at Autozone.
