rev limiter

so the chip not only changes the ignition advance curve and the a/f ratio but also raises the rev limiter, cool. you would'nt happen to know how much it increases the limiter would you?
 
An eec-tuner or a J3 adapter will allow you to adjust the limiter to any rpm you wish...You can get into a J3 for about 150 bux total...or have one burnt with a single tune for 100 or so. The only issue is I'm not 100% certain they are available for the n/a computers...
 
i would'nt have a problem running the higher octane because i run it now. the car is only used for racing in the scca in the ITB class.i'm just trying to get a little more out of her:nice: .if its the superchip part do you have the part number?this might sound dumb but what is an eec-tuner and a j3 adapter? where could i get the j3 adapter?
 
They are a "chip" of sorts only it's tuneable by the user, not preprogrammed by a company for the masses. You can adjust pretty much anything you can think of...timing curves, fuel curves, open/closed loop, load calculations, rev limiter, injector size, etc.
 
There are two types out there. I run a superchip 1100 module. Got it off ebay for $42. They are a piggy back chip for your stock speed density ecu. I had to get it custom programmed as I run a cam, header and intake.

The other systems are Tweecer or EEC Tuner. They are for Mass Air systems, and are fully adjustable. They also cost $$.
 
Yes I did. Noticed a little more bottom end, upper range pulled better. I was always having trouble at cruise speeds running lean, but that was cleared when remapped A/F look up table in the chip was used. The single bank chip has really come down in price, and even when you take into consideration the cost of programming it, IMO was worth it.
