I've read several posts about troubleshooting non-functional reverse lights, but none of them have mentioned if there's anything tricky to changing out the switch on the side of the tranny.
I bought the new switch, and was preparing to change it out, but I noticed that the new part has a sealant (possibly teflon) on the threads. Should I be expecting to lose much fluid during the swap? I doubt the fluid level is anywhere near that high inside the gearbox, but I've never had one open before.
This is for a 2000 Mustang GT with 5-speed.
I had the switch replaced once under warranty, and now it's gone again.
Thanks in advance,
