Well I am having some problems with my 5.0

First off when I start the car up it idles fine but as soon as I rev it up and when the RPM's come back down to idle it tries to stay alive but dies. I have checked and set the TPS, I have cleaned the EGR, I have cleaned the IAC, I have replaced the ACT sensor since it threw a code 112, I have also taken off my C&L and put on my stock meter. None of these things I have done has helped at all! The FP is on 43 vac off, I have also checked the vacum and it runs about 17 at idle.

Whats the deal!?

I have only checked one and it looked like it was burning clean to me. It just had a full tune-up 800 miles ago! Think it could be a bad Autolite already?

Dump the codes and see what the computer says is wrong…

Here's the link to dump the computer codes with only a jumper wire or paper clip and the check engine light, or test light or voltmeter. I’ve used it for years, and it works great.

See http://www.troublecodes.net/Ford/
OR
See http://www.dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html for more descriptive help
OR
See http://www.mustangworks.com/articles/electronics/eec-iv_codes.html

IF your car is an 88 or earlier stang, you'll have to use the test lamp or voltmeter method. There is no functional check engine light on the 88's except possibly the Cali Mass Air cars.

Be sure to do one test pass with the engine off and one pass with the engine on.

Codes have different answers if the engine is running from the answers that it has when the engine isn't running. It helps a lot to know if you had the engine running when you ran the test.

Fix any codes it spits out & if it still does it, then start looking at the IAC & make another post.
