in one of the pics they are definitely cruising the streets. there are so many and they share the same "style" i think these are "real" cars. it looks like the material of choice for a lot of the mods if plywood.

It's so hard to believe people would actually enjoy their cars looking like those......
Now don't tear me to shreds if I'm wrong, but I think I remember seeing something like that in Gran Turismo 3 in a Pikes Peak rally race. it had a big front splitter, really wide fender flairs, and a pretty big spoiler...........not quite to those extremes but pretty close to some of them.
Those are some wastes of gas and sheet metal though

Did a quick google search..........I realize that those cars are probably hardly drivable but I thinking this may be part of their inspiration

When I first saw the ones with the long front valance, they looked like they were on a rollback. Must be fun to drive in the snow. Wouldn't have to shovel the driveway.

And at the top I think it says Tokyo Auto Salon...which means...car show...?

Car show in Japan.

Some of those "bolt ons" are exactly the same, which indicate that they are available in the aftermarket, I'm guessing. If you have ever been to Autobacs in LA, you get the idea some of those japanese "hot rodders" are really pretty wacky.

I posted this in the wrong room, sorry!

HAHAHAHAHA , if they wouldve put a 15 foot wingspan along side of those "5 foot pipes" and "10 foot wings", roll em down a hill, full throttle, with a tailwind, im almost sure once those things hit a buck twenty theyd fly all the way to china.....prolly where half that "aftermarket performance crap" was made.... God, how i love

I'm completely baffled.

How about those front-mount oil coolers with the hoses draped everywhere...

I really can't understand...

Even in the seventies and eighties we were doing nothing as bad as that!

There is some classic Japanese tin that has been butchered forever there.
