Ricers defending 5.0's to another ricer!!! FUNNY

I like how, after so many years, the 5.0L is still the car everyone wants to race with and win. lol

A lot of 5.0L's are slow as turds out there, they beat one and they think they're all the same. But still they had to do an engine swap to beat a torn up and old 5.0L... imagine if that 5.0L Mustang would do an engine swap (like a 427 for example) then all hell would break loose and the little ricers wouldn't know what to do next because even the mighty turbo wouldn't help them.

i dont mind that those little kids want to do that stupid crap to their moms car....the only thing that gets me is when they start talking about their motors. "yeah well ive got a b85751jgdcng953719cch engine waiting to go in with a 8gh43830jjc`hsdie transmission to" im like, SHUT UP!

I like the six page debate on beating stock 5.0's.

Now I don't know about you guys, but it's pretty tricky to find a stock 5.0 in my neck of the woods.

Ahhh, I just dream about kids like that sliding up next to my 5.slow on nice summer evening...

That made me think of were I live. Thats all I see day in and day out. I don't get it, I can be driving along and some honda will get next to me at a light and start reving. I don't even look at them anymore. I have out run many of them just getting on the free way.:D

"Mustangs have no top end"

LOL, my car has stock heads and cam and it doesn't even come alive untill 3k and it'll pull untill i lose the guts to keep pulling on it.

my friends completely stock 92LX Notch with the exception of a Centerforce Dual friction clutch and an after market hood/ and clear corners had no problem getting to 140 on the straight away at the local track in WA when i was back home.

lol if you look at page 3 at the bottom, youll see my post, from a LONG time ago, I had a race with a B20 civic who was convinsed he would destroy me, so I was searching around and I found that thread, and posted it on stangnet, and a bunch of stnanget people went and posted, and hell broke loose and i guess they closed it, but heres my thread from a long time ago about the civic I raced.

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=584794

Oh and if anyone remembers that race, the guy said he sprayed the car and ran a 13 and blew the motor, he got a new motor a few days ago and says it will be more then I can handle so we'll see how it comes out, but the this guy isnt done with yet. :D

Heres a pic of his "beast"

Are those hubs in the rear or actual drum brakes? :D I can fit all 4 honda pistons in my mouth, those slugs don't scare me because I don't fear hamsters lol ;)

Hell i like it.....honestly. I'd drive the hell out of that car! Roll cage, decent wheels and no stupid body kit....i'd drive that every day.

Would i race it? I like covering the 1/4 in less than 17 seconds

Well those hatchbacks can have a lot of potential now, better if it's those boxy models from the early 90's. Not something I'd mod to hell but just a basic engine swap, I mean it isn't hard to "upgrade" engines when you're dealing with such small things. I'd do a K20A swap, mod the suspension and sticky tires and make for a fun little grocery getter.

I've never seen a Honda run faster than a 14. The fastest i've ever seen was a true imported Integra Type R and it ran low 13s on slicks, and then blew a slick doing a burnout. That car was nowhere near stock either. I know they're out there, but i've never seen one and i spend a lot of time at the track. I've driven a few turbo Civics and a 15 second Neon....they're ok for what they are but they're nothing when lined up with even a mildly modded Mustang.

I've seen them, not many but there are a few in my area. They aren't ricers either. One has a white 4 door with ugly stock 14" rims and no fart pipe. In fact he hid his boost guage and other things so they couldn't be seen from the road and I think he's in the low 14's. Again not my taste but pretty damn good considering he started with a 17-18 second car.

And yeah a modded 5.0L Mustang is going to be VERY hard to catch in a honda. But we're already RWD and have plenty of easy-to-get torque. We have a better platform to work with since they basically need to change engines to equal a stock and tired 5.0L.

When i was back home in Washington, at then Seattle International Raceway (SIR) which has been renamed to Pacific International Raceway (i think) i have seen a white hatch back civic raised rear end (alot) with nitrous and a turbo run 11.X

Now i'm not saying that i like them, but i will give respect where respect is due. Any car running 11's deserves respect.

Granted your average civic with a fart can and V-Tec (the cure all for all hondas V8 problems) is pretty quick for what it is, but when it comes down to it, there really is no replacement for displacement in a internal combustion engine.

That's my point....why race something that was built for economy when you can race something that's built with performance in mind? I'm actually looking to buy an Accord or something for work and i'm sure i won't be able to leave it totally stock, but i don't see the logic behind swapping an engine and everything else just to get a car to where a stock Mustang can easily be.

There used to be a guy around here that everyone call ed Si Mike, and he literally had 20k+ into a hatch just like that one, and it only ran 13s. To me, that's an absolute waste of money. He drives a rediculous Evo now though, 500ish to the wheels.

:nonono: What a load of crap. That whole thread is crap. Better yet I think a line from one of my favorite movies sums up that thread:

"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. " :spot:
