Stock Saleen foxbody wheels are 16x7 front and 16x8 rear for the 1989 models. I'm not sure about the offset. My 3 piece STERNS offsets are 24mm and 39mm and they are 17x8 fronts and 17x9's rear.
Don't buy them, they look like crap in person. Besides you can get 18 replica that look real for that price.
A set of the speedlines i have just went off for $650. Same offsets. Just some guy painted them flat black. Still would of been worth it, i thought about buying them.
the more i looked into it the more i shyed away from the eagles, thanks. how hard would it be to pull a rear end from a 95 and swap it into my car? ( i know this is alittle off subject, just something i was wondering about)
I believe the rear axles on a foxbody Saleen are 1.25" longer then a stock foxbody and the 95 SN95 axles are 0.75" longer then a stock foxbody so the 95 axles would be about a half inch shorter each side.
George is correct. This ( the 95 set up ) is the way guys can fit 18x10's with a narrow tire or 18x9's with a fat tire back there on a fox body and not have the tire stick out past the wheel well. Lose the kicker shocks as well. You should be able to re use your brake lines but why? While you are there just spend a few bucks on some nice stainless lines.
This rear axle/brake swap is not rocket science but you really need to already have the wheels you want to run first and then adjust your combo to work with them. Otherwise you just waste time.
Reason for the edit. I have to tell you. If you don't drive your car hard then you can do just fine with going with some 17's or 18's. The truth is the perfect wheel size for all around competetive situations is a 16" wheel. I have run autocross, open touring and so on and have to tell you the 16" wheel is the all around better performer with the correct tire selection on a fox body car. Rolling mass. Two inches in diameter just slows you down but looks great I agree.
I have a set of chrome 18x9 saleen wheels sitting about three feet from me right now, but I want to start setting up the car for autocross. I just want a wheel that will fit the stock saleen brake setup that looks decent. dammit!! i didnt think this would be that hard. one thing i dont want to do is go slower, id rather be fast than look flashy. I'm open to suggestions, and thanks for all the imput ive gotten so far
offset would still be the same, You would merely change the tire dimension to adjust for the larger diameter rim. I run 17x8 fronts and 17x9 rears, I run 235/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rears. The tire size works great for the road course.
