Rim width quesstion

Hey I'm new to the 5.0 world. I used to own a 99 cobra but now I'm lookin to buy a 90 LX. Anyways when i get the car I'm lookin to buy some weld draglites and I was wonderin what is the widest tire I can jam under their without it stickin out past the fenderwell? I had 17x10's on my old stang but I wasnt sure if it was the same for a fox. I was hopin to get some 315 or the closest to that on the rims. Thanks alot Jay

I just put a pair of 17x9 w/ 275/40/17 nitto dr's on my 92 today. Had to take the quads off. Other than that, no clearance issues. It also sits at stock height.

Is that the biggest you think you can go? Also does takin off the quadshock mess up the ride? Thanks for the help. Jay

i wouldnt assume it would, im about to remove mine. Its only there to try to absorb some of the load on the rear end....

So far I haven't noticed any difference w/ the quads off. Every car is different though.
