What vacuums do you have connected to you upper intake. I just did the swap to a 93 throttle body with the explorer upper intake. There's several lines to hook up vacumms to. I only had 3 on my cobra upper. Which ones do I connect and which ones do I plug? I had one from the fpr to the uppper, and two from the pcv which connected under the intake. I don't have egr/smog equipment so I want to get rid of this black thing(in pic below), which was another vacuum connected to the center of the intake. There's also one red line coming from the driver side fenderwell that plugged onto the elbow of my old intake. So many damn vacuums I don't know what to do. Which ones do I need?

I have another question. Where am I going to hook up the fuel pressure line. As you can see in the pic below, there's 2 being used for the pcv and one will be for the egr(which I will plug) but where do I connect the fp one.

I used the Fox vacuum tree as it made everything a lot easier. The FPR is still connected to the FPR on one end and to any vacuum source on the intake on the other, the EGR is still connected to the EGR on one end and to the firewall vacuum tree as normal, the PCV is connected as you have it in the pic, and the other vacuum tree (firewall) connection for the HVAC is connected to any vacuum source on the intake.

That's how I feel right now after reading your post. Sorry.
Ok so let me see if I understand,
1. Fuel pressure to any vacuum.
2. No egr, so plug that.
3. 2 lines for the pcv.
4. I have no idea what the HVAC is.

Is the HVAC the black cylinder I posted above? If it is, I have no smog and was told I didn't need it.

I cut these down some...but this is how I ran my feeds....Charcoal is the purge soleniod..

Can't I plug the charcoal one since I have no smog. SO then you just used one for the pcv? Can you tell me exactly what lines goes to the vac tree?

I'm not sure on the purge valve...My thinking is that if your gas vent line is hooked and feeding to that can, then the purge valve should be hooked up as it vents those fumes to the upper...
It's independant from the EGR/smog removal to me, as I have that deleted to but still run that valve...

Here is the tree on the 93 Cobra for what it's worth...

Quick question. Why is the PCV line teed off and enters the upper in two locations? Can I just run it into the upper in one location instead of two?

Clark, the PCV splits off like that even on stock formation. I would leave it alone.

Ok, I get it now, but on the top pic where it says EGR, you mean the hose coming from the black cylinder pictured above right? Also, my intake doesn't have those 2 small lines coming from the intake for the EGR and FP like yours. Did you add that? (posted in Rio's last pic)

I think it's just a redundant vacuum.

I said screw all the vacuum issues and made my own tree, then ran everything to that except for the PCV which I have running directly into the plenum. So right now I only have two brake booster hoses coming off the plenum and thats it.

What about the red line? it comes from the wheel well and I have no idea what it does. As you can see, I'm using an egr spacer while I get my delete plate. I also have a huge vacuum leak there, I can hear it between the spacer and plenum.

I have the last hose going to the intake. Do I need to plug that other one that's open. It says it's for the a/c.

And that hose connecting to the front of the intake comes from the black cylinder(canister) thing.

Don't rag on me about how dirty it is. I'm more worried about getting it to run properly before I can start painting and cleanings things.

Pic 1.....Not sure, as mine is gone...I would assume its a vac feed from the soleniods in the fender, where it feeds from...
If your having a leak at the spacer...You did place gaskets on both sides??? Also, Plug that metal tube up top of the TB, the one that loops to the firewall...Thats a nice leak to boot..

Pic 2....ahhhh ya, Thats as serious vac leak...Plug that puppy...

Pic 3....That line is how your feeding vac to the purge sloeniod..That should work for ya....

And ya....Your engine bay looks like ass.....

The red line does come from the solenoids in the fender. I'll just cut that and seal it. I did place a gasket on both sides. I don't know what the problem is, I just want my damn plate already. Thanks man, that should do it. To sum it up, I need 1 vacuum for the tree, 2 for the pcv, 1 for the purge solenoid, and 1 for the fuel pressure right. It really doesn't matter which line from the intake I use for what, as long as they're hooked up, right?

Correct on the feeds....AS I mentioned make sure the tube on top of the TB is plugged..You can buy a bag of assorted plugs at AZ or the like..

If you haven't done so, since your killing the Red feed, I would unplug the EGR and set the plunger 1/2 way...with no vacuum feeding it, maybe it's gonna trip a CEL??? not sure, just throwing it out there...

I know bro. It's sad looking. I had the open scoop hood on there and it got worse. Right now I just want to make it run fine and then I'll start taking it apart so I can start painting things.
