rivet question

Hi guys,

I have a problem with what type of rivet gun is used to attached the weather stripping to the divison bar/window channel

could i get these attached by using something other than a rivet gun? I've only worked with pop rivets so any help would be appreciated.

Put 'em through, put the tip of a tapered punch in the open end with the head against something solid, and whack away. It'll mushroom right out.

Yeah, what Pete said. You can use a large flat drift afterwards to make it flush and tight also.

thanks guys, i actually found an article online about restoring vent windows and it said how. I should have thought of that anyway, it's quite simple LOL

well now that i'm embarassed I'll go finish yup the job.

there ya go. I got the passenger side done, but now I'm working on my quarter windows. the regulator arm rollers are completely off the tracks and it's making me mad I hate working on those window regulators

...until I buy your car in 20 years and take it apart! I've gutted a gazillion Mustangs and it's always an adventure to see what people did to them over the last 35-40 years.

lol yeah, it was a chore doing it. I now know why these are hardly ever replaced and why the ones i replaced were in bad shape. No one wants to do it
