I just bought a 2001 Cobra sight unseen (NON RUNNING) **UNKNOWN ENGINE ISSUES**
Only thing I new about the car is it what I saw in pictures and what the seller told me. And the body is SUPER CLEAN!!!
A.) Started it up one day and it was blowing white smoke and the engine shut off.
B.) Block had been replaced in 2008 by a KarKraft Aluminum block and heads rebuilt.
C.) Car does not currently run.
1.) So the first thing I checked was the oil and coolant.
oil= full and no milky oil
coolant=looks new and filled
2.) Pulled the Spark Plugs
Driver side head was clean
passenger side were full of oil
3.) Compression test

4.) Leakdown test passenger only
Passenger:

So everything is pointing to a blown head gasket between the 2nd and 3rd cylinder or a cracked cylinder head somewhere.
Total cost to fix.
1. gasket set 230.0
2. head bolts 40.00
3. oil and coolant 40.00
4. Camshaft holding tool 130.00
5. Mill head and check 130.00
Total $570.00
Tear down complete waiting on machine shop. I did not remove the engine
although it would have been easier and a few more hours work I dont have the tools to do it.
*repainted valve covers while I had them off.
