cant find it anywhere in the book and dont want to over tighten them.anyone know what the torque is?

stock rocker arms are always torqued to 25ft ilbs.aftermarket adjustable rocker arms are different between brands.stock rockers will loosen up if theyre torqued below 25ft ilbs and will bind up and potentially break if torqued over 25

good call...i was thinking more in line of aftermarket.

My Ford Shop Manual says 18-22 ft-lbs for stock rockers.
