ok well i took off my valve cover on the drivers side and well i found that one of my rockers was off of the pushrod itself. i know that the rockers come loose sometimes but completely off the pushrod? anyone know what would cause this? thanks for any help guys. :flag:

Sounds like somebody didn't torque down the rockers correctly. Are yours stud or pedestal? On my stock heads (pedestal) I had 5 loose when I swapped heads last summer. On my new heads (stud) I had a couple come loose because I didn't set the lash correctly.

What valve was it that the rocker came off the pushrod? Hope it wasn't the exhaust valve. If that valve fails to open one time, buh-bye headgasket. :nonono:

well now when i tightened down that rocker it compressed the spring.. should it do that? it doesnt seem right... didnt do it to the others.
it all depends on what valve event you are on if that is right or not. but at the very worst you bent a pushrod and that would not make the rocker compress more, so yes it prolly should do that. that valve is prolly on the open side and the others you are checking are not.

fwiw, my old vette use to sling pushrods like crazy. it was a combo of many things, but mainly it was due to me spinning the begeezees out of it and not having the right valve train.
