i officially hate my car and i am looking for the nearest cliff to drive it off of.

up until this point in time i have had my car for a year, driven it about 3,500 miles, and have had the following things replaced...

transmission
Head Gaskets (3 times so far since feb)
much much more
now a rod bearing

this stupid car has been apart more than it has been together.

engine is coming out and being rebuilt i guess....unless i get a better suggestion or if someone offers me a reasonable amount of money....

Open it up and just replace the rod bearing and inspect the crank for any scaring and just emerald cloth the crank to make sure it is smooth. Or you may want to rebuild it using summit's rebuild kits for like $400 and do the rebuild yourself if you feel up to it.

Yeah its tough but with a supercharged motor your makin a lot of power. A T-5 is a weak tranny and thats a lot of power. And the stock bottom ends of our cars arent exactly top notch for blown cars either. Good luck man, im in a similar boat with my broken trans

do what i did and get an explorer motor. I got mine for $650 with only 55k. Plus they can make good power, as evedent by the 306 rwhp, with porting, etc. Less boost, same hp?

i have been looking around online and came up with this....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7981813033&category=33615

its a 306 or 308 (whichever i want) short block $750 plus shipping, 12 month/12,000 mile warranty

you can upgrade to forged pistons and some other things....

what do you guys think of a 306 or 308?

Mike, Sorry to hear about your bad luck man.
Hope things work out for the best.
Kinda off topic, but how do you like your snow kit?
Did you get the maf kit or the regular stage 2 kit?
Were you able to mount everything in the engine bay?
Sorry for all the questions, but im on the market for one right now.
Thanks!
