Can i put in ARP rod bolts on a 351 stock shortblock easily? Or do machine shops have to use a press or something?

I have no idea....

First you've got to find out whether the rods accept a stud and nut or a rod bolt. Either way, they are not hard to change. You will probably need an engine stand to change them.

rod bolts

you really should have them done by a machine shop, the rods should be re-sized when you change the bolts.

Why? That doesn't make sense to me.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I just don't understand.
