I have always heard the bracing that keeps the roller lifters in place referred to as a dogbone or whatnot. Is this in fact what I need?

I'd be going with FRPP Lifters so I'm thinking this is the piece I need?

The dogbones are the ones pictured that are on the side of the lifter hold down. There are 8 of them.

Well the block in my garage doesnt have that so I assume I need it then? Since that one appears to be on back order, would this also work? http://store.summitracing.com/defau...eywordSearch&DDS=1&N=115&target=egnsearch.asp

umm what part are you looking at?

if its this one http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CCA-351001&N=115&autoview=sku then yes that is what you need.

I'm confused about this thread, are you installing a roller cam on a non-roller block? Cause you will have to drill 2 holes for the spider to be bolted to.

Nope, its a roller block, already has the two holes drilled in the top of the block and whatnot. I have just never torn down or built an engine before and wondered what I need to hold my lifters in place. I'm assuming either of those parts I linked to would work?

Both the Ford Racing kit or the Comp Cams kit will work.

ahh ok, your orginal post was a little confusing. Good luck to you, keep us posted. Yes either the comp or ford racing kit will work.

If your current motor is a roller block all of those parts will be there already. You can save the $$ and use the current parts.

Yes the linked pieces will work just fine, but why spend the money if you already have them?
