Gotta love a clean stock find...I found my hatch in Iowa, 97,000 miles and only thing that wasn't stock were the wheels. It had been in storage for a few years.

idk if this is the right place, but ive seen how all of you are in love with that bone stock fox. ive been doing alot of looking around lately on just about every Mustang forum and ran across this peice of art a few days ago

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/pp-c...p?product=19216&title=bone-stock-89-gt&cat=74

He has a link for a thread where he lists all the faults (very small and simple faults) on the car and asks how much its worth. with a little talking, pretty sure you could grab this beauty for under 4k. i was thinkin about it, but just not my cup of tea

Thats not a bad looking car, but, the location is Savanna GA, If I was to buy at car like that it would end up costing me another $1000 or so to have it shipped to Colorado. Also I would have not been able to see the car in person or drive it before I bought.
I was also purposely looking for an LX and not a GT because I dont like the looks of the ground effect skirts on the GT's.
As far a the things he listed wrong with the car
Bad:Paint needs buffed
Front fascia has damage to lower left corner
Left foglight missing
Needs headlights
Needs headliner
Needs brakes serviced
Interior could use a shampoo
Ashtray door is floppy
Transmission grinds a little going into reverse
Very small, shallow dent in right quarter panel
Hatch struts are weak
Rust starting under rear wing on hatch
--------------------------------------------------------

As for my car,
There are no dents in my car, my transmission doesn't grind going into any gear, my brakes work fine, there is no rust anywhere, my headliner is perfect, there is no damage to my front fascia, and my paint doesn't need buffed. To be fair with the compairison my car does need headlights and the front bumper area plastic needs repainted cause its a little faded, and thats about it. It was important to me to find a car in good shape where everything worked cause I wanted to put it into use as a daily driver, I didn't want a project car, I already have a project car and one is enough...lol

Not trying to start a fight, just saying, I'm pretty happy with what I got, for the price I paid.

Yeah, that GT looks like the run-of-the-mill $3500 Fox around here. Your LX looks the $8,000 Fox everybody is looking for around here.

oh i wasn't trying to compare that car with yours MileHighDart. yours is obviously the better find. yours is immaculate, and the one in GA would take a weekends worth of work and about 1k bucks to be where yours is. i was just posting because i was the reading the comments everyone was making on how hard it was to find stock foxes. all you gotta do sometimes is do a little research. Congrats on the find though, thats a beautiful car

I live in Metro Detroit and know a few people who worked at Dearborn Assembly. Most all of them bought Fox bodies and finding an unmolested one here in Ford's backyard is nearly impossible. Most of them upon receiving their 5.0 followed the 3 rules of modification:
-Flowmasters
-Replaced the stock shifter with a Pro 5.0 or B&M
-Ripped out the intake silencer and put in a K&N filter
After many years of searching I was able to locate a one owner 1990 GT convertible all stock (except the wheels), 48K no snow or rain and completely unmolested with ALL service records, sales brochure, window sticker and warranty card. It has always been stored in a heated garage. The paint is original flawless oxford white and you can eat off the undercarriage!...I paid for it but I feel it will hold its value IMO.
Here are some pics (I removed the windshield sticker today)....Any opinions are welcome!

Very nice but I would still easily modify that thing, nice sounding exhaust, shifter, wheels for sure.
