Hey guys, To those that have the Roush suspension kit or just the springs. Did you have to replace the strut mount to install these correctly?

The Roush springs are known to be one of the mildest drops on the market, I was wondering if those things would fail and start clunking if the front springs were installed with them.

Thanks

There really isn't a black or white answer. I've installed two sets of springs without replacing the strut mount and neither have had any problems because of doing so.

I have the complete Roush system (front and back) and I reused the strut mounts, but having said that, I have heard that the upper strut mounts are a one time installation thing and should be replaced when replacing the struts. Also, I believe there is a TSB to replace the upper strut mounts in older cars (05 to 07 I think) to clear up clunking problems from the front end, so it might be an idea to do this while you have the struts out, as I don't think the upper mounts are very exspensive from Ford.

Perhaps others can add to the info I have provided.

Plus now you can get adjustable upper mounts for not much over $200(still pricey, but lower than the $300 I paid back in March! Oh well, $300 for possibly not having to worry about the popping and replacing them was still worth it to me at that point.

Anyone used the GT500 ones yet? Word on the street is that they are stiffer and are only 60 bucks

No idea, but I do know my cars bushings/mount deal was replaced not long after it was new. Apparently whole lots of clunking, but I've never had any clunking since i bought it.
