Has anyone installed a Roush Spoiler on their ride? I am curious how the two outside pieces attach. How many bolt holes does it need and where are they placed? Just trying to figure out how well they are attached. I assume the middle piece is attached in the stock holes.

I saw an ad which said you have to drill two extra holes but I've also seen a post where they stuck the edge pieces on with 3M tape which grips like a mo-fo but may be prone to being knocked off.

Thats what I'm concerned about. I know double sided tape will stick good but for how long? If I have to drill holes, I'll never be able to remove the spoiler down the road.....not that I would, just if I ever wanted to go back stock, I'd have holes in the qtrs. Its a dilemma and I want to get the best info to make the best decision.

I do think you have to drill holes. One of the magazines did a write up on how you install all the roush parts. I myself would stay away from anything I have to drill into my car. Also, with out the whole body kit that Roush wing looks kind of silly IMO.....but I am partial to the ducktail wing.

I like to mix and match different styles to get what I'm looking for. Right now I'm torn between a couple different ones, thats why I wanted to find out how the Roush attaches. I stay away from anything that has a name imprinted.

I think my car look great without the body kit. Just my opinion though.

You could just go for the tape, it sticks like crazy and just don't baseball bat it off. I about choke people when they use my my spoiler as a handle anyways.

Hello,

I have a '05 Roush sport. The roush spoiler you buy from Roush will have 6 holes to drill, this is because on earlier ones like mine only had 4 holes, Roush changed this in '06, because 4 did not cut it.

The ends are taped on, the middle section is drilled and taped on.

Mine looks good, middle section comes up a little due to only having 4 bolts, but it's passable. End cap parts are stuck on there good.

Looks good, especially looking in my rear view mirror and seeing the spoiler back there.

webb06GT - It looks sweet like that

jack1.1 - I really want the Roush spoiler, nothing looks quite like it. I'm ok with putting the spoiler on if I don't have to drill any holes in my qtr panels. I guess the biggest question then is how well are those 2 outside pieces going to stick? I mean, thats a lot of air pushing on there with just tape holding on. Let me konw

I guess the spoiler is a matter of taste. I have a Roush wing on my otherwise stock 05 GT and I think it looks great. It's definitely better than the stock wing that looks like a reject from a 1989 Probe.
I had mine installed by the dealer before I picked up the car in April 2005. They said there were 3 holes drilled on each side for the end pieces, and the center section is held on with tape AND the stock wing holes.

I just got mine put on about a week ago. I had it done at a shop as I did not want to drill the holes myself....I paid about $300.00 to have it prepped painted and installed. I don't know if that's high or not.....

There are holes that are drilled for the outside pieces 5.o or MM&FF had a series featuring the roush body kit. It comes with templates for all applicable holes and if I'm not mistaken the outside pieces got at least 1 screw, maybe two and the tape as well. That is the wing I am going with too.

I just installed mine about a month ago. There are 3 holes for each side piece that have to be drilled in to the quarter panel, as well as 2 additional holes for the center piece that have to be enlarged. Actually, I can't remember if I had to drill 2 new holes for the center piece or just widen the holes that were already there, but you did have to do something there. All pieces are held on by tape as well. I'm not sure I'd trust just the tape, but that's just me. I had a 3dcarbon GT500 spoiler before this one and even though it used 2 of the bolts from the original spoiler, the tape on the front of it start lifting a little bit. It could have been from installation error, but it lifted never the less.

I was scared to do it at first, but the template they provide is spot on. Be sure and take your time and follow the directions and it's a piece of cake! By the way, I got mine prepainted from stage3motorsports.com for I believe $390, which isn't bad prepainted.
